installer does nothing at disk partitioning step [solved]

Post by nevets »

Hi, the installer does nothing when at the partitioning step...
I've tried iso [Mate] current and development, on two different memory sticks, to two different HDDs, and via BIOS and UFEI boot. I've tried both full disc and custom options too...
I left it for 30 minutes to see if anything happens....
This is all on a box that's been running FreeBSD Trident then Ghost for donkeys.
Is it just my setup?
sha256 passed ok.

========================
The GhostBSD installer can't partition discs that were historically part of a RAID array.
Once I'd
diskpart > clean > create dynamic
on a Windows system where I formatted it to NTFS the installer could cope and partition the HDD.
Note:
I did drop into
Terminal > gpart
on the GhostBSD live medium and
gpart destroy raid/r1
Although this deleted the raid partition the installer still failed to partition the disk.
Is there an equivalent to diskpart > clean > create dynamic in gpart that should have worked?
